When is the last time you looked around and realized what really is in your own backyard? I don’t mean grass and swingsets – I mean what attractions and points of interest are close to you. Things that you take for granted because you see them every
day.
This past weekend, I was out for a run, and when I passed over the Covered Bridge that is right up the street from me, I was stopped by a couple pulled over on the side of the road. They were conducting a driving tour of the Bucks County Covered Bridges and were looking for directions to their next stop.
As I was speaking to them, I found out they were from New York and had stumbled upon the tour online at the Visit Bucks County Web Site .http://visitbuckscounty.com/. They remarked about the beauty of the area, and when they learned that I lived nearby, proceeded to tell me how lucky I am to live in such a beautiful area. And you know what? They’re right! I get to see these “attractions” every day. The Upper Bucks Delaware River Valley is full of attractions and events. From Polo matches at Tinicum Park, to Art Galleries along River Road, to great shopping in towns like New Hope. If you live here, get out and experience it! If not, come visit….you’ll fall in love with the area. Then you can call me and I can sell you a house here! (shameless Real Estate plug).
No matter where you live though, there are certain to be points of interest that are taken for granted. Explore them, appreciate them, and embrace your surroundings. Others travel there – you live there! How lucky are you?!
